Tortuguero – Pacuare

Tortuguero National Park is located in the North-eastern Costa Rica. This is one of the parks best known internationally, and for good reason, besides being one of the most important locations for nesting Kemp’s ridley, leatherback and other, this ecosystem is as diverse as nature itself.

Tortuguero National Park, is one of the most popular ecotourism destinations because of its scenic beauty and rich biodiversity. The canals, rivers, beaches and lakes in this area are a living laboratory of tropical rain forest, freshwater, and marine biology.

The wildlife in this area is very diverse, usually large populations of monkeys, amphibians, birds and fish.

The resident fauna including tapirs, jaguars, Grisons, sloths, frogs, toucans and bats.

The park and refuge consist of storm flood lowlands formed by the coalescence of the deltas of several rivers, down to the ancient coastal Nicaragua. The location and geological factors ára make this one of the most humid and rainy in the country.
